We spent Tuesday in Town updating blog and working on web. I went shopping while Bob worked. On Wednesday, we took another hike, around 7 miles with an elevation gain of around 1,000 ft. Here are just a few of the beautiful scenes. The waters are flowing really fast due to the melting snow & warmer weather. They were starting to sand bag in places in Estes Park.
One last trip out in the UTVs for this year. This time we had our own. On Oct 5th, went up the Mill Creek trail that is near Yellowstone. Good group, Wayne and Nancy, Kevin and Kathy, a couple of guys that were friends of Kevin and us. Fun ride, but a little rough for some. The group at the top Stuck? Down in the Gully? 50 Inch rigs only. Lunch at the shack. Top of the Mountain. After this weather started coming in so we met up with Wayne and Nancy for the trip down to Arizona. Oct 15th we left with snow on the ground. Not much really going on in AZ. Can't have get togethers or much so we drove back up to our place in Butte for Thanksgiving. On the way we stopped in Idaho Falls, ID and purchased another UTV. I wanted one too. Had to drive back up to pick it up a few days later. No snow, but cold enough for a fire in the wood burning stove. Back to AZ. Had a covid Christmas with Nancy and Geoff Justice, and Pat an...
On Saturday morning Dec 3rd, we arrived at the Fiji airport. It was only 5:30 am, but they still had a Band to greet us. We had to wait until 7:00 for the grocery stores to open, the the Malolo Cat office that would be transporting us to the island of Malolo Lei Lei to our resort, the Malolo Lei Lei Lagoon Resort was open Rosa welcomed us with a flower for my hair. After a trip to the grocery and to see the town of Nadi, we boarded a bus to the Marina to disembark to our island vacation. The Malolo Cat II took us for the hour trip to the island. First view of our home for the week. It was everything Bob and I wanted, no phone, no inter-net, and no TV. As a matter of fact, there wasn’t even a microwave. (we could have had inter-net at $5 for 30 minutes, but we opted not to even get on) The computer was strictly to save pictures. and that we did!!!! The beauty has to be seen, not described...
As promised, I’m sitting in the Library in Gunnison to post this blog. No internet in the Curanti National Forest so we’ve driven into Gunnison to collect mail and catch up on things. We do now have electric, but still no water or sewer. After Durango, we headed to Matterhorn to a national forest campground. We were there for a week, dry camping and even when we ran the generator, No wi-fi or phone. The weather was cold and wet, but something we’re getting used to. Still obeying the doctor and only sight seeing by car. On Sunday, Aug 5th after we arrived, we headed into Telluride to check things out. This was the last day of Jazz Fest and we did get to see and hear one band. This wasn’t actually at the Festival, but just a free concert in town. The also lucked on to a great 4 wheel drive up to Bridal Falls. Great for no planning. As we’re leaving Town, we see this great herd of Elk. The first of the summer. The ne...
