After Tahiti until our next Adventure

Arrived back from Tahiti or Bora Bora on Dec. 18, 2018.  Took awhile to get into the groove just playing pickleball and doing daily walks. Had Christmas dinner with Nancy and Geoff Justice and 5 or 6 other couples.  Texas Chili in Arizona.  Great time with friends.

The weather this season has been the coldest we've had in a long time. Not freezing, but staying in 50's even during the day.  Also, more rain than usual.  But still better than the majority of the Country.

We started the New Year by taking the rig to Lake Pleasant.  Supposed to go up New Year's Eve and stay for 3 nights.  Rainy and cold, so we had dinner at our place in Surprise with Lynn and Linda, and Ron and Donna on New Year's Eve and left for Lake Pleasant the next day.  That afternoon, did get a good hike in and saw some Wild Burro's.

The wind really picked up that evening and was freezing cold.  Had the dinner cuddled around the table with tarps up trying to block the wind.  Lynn and Linda were to cook breakfast the next morning, but instead we headed out to Rock Springs Cafe.  Weather forecast indicated more wind and colder.  I told them that Bob and I were headed home.  It wasn't as if we didn't have a house close by.  Packed up and headed back to Happy Trails and had Donna's planned meal at her place that evening.  All in All, Lake Pleasant sucked, but the time with friends was worth it.

Glad we came back home in time to see the Bobcat in the area. I only got a rear end shot of course.  Neighbor got great pictures.
We've also had javelina a couple of times this year, and road runners.  Plus the normal harris hawks and coyotes.

Coyotes are pretty common sight, but this one was different.  It climbs trees.

Cat in tree not an unusual sight

Now, a coyote in tree trying to get cat in tree is unusual

Bob and I did several  hikes this year. Spur Cross Ranch, out by Cave Creek and  the Ford Canyon Trail and the Goat Camp Trail, both in  the White Tanks.  Great hikes, and beautiful flowers.

Flowers everywhere

Water was higher than normal, some trails were flooded

Excess water made everything really green

Ford Canyon Trail had some huge rocks to scale

Don't believe every sign you read. Was a little rough, but not bad

Flowers everywhere

Purple ones too
I do hike also

proof of snow in the White Tanks

We took a week trip down to Rocky Point (Puerto Penasco) for those not familiar with the area, Mexico the first week of March.  We also had winds and cooler weather but got in some kayaking with the dolphins off the beach.  Had a great time with Ron and Donna and Lloyd and Donna. Had to resort to DL and DR to distinguish between the two. Walked the beach every day and sometimes more. Walked into town a couple of times and of course brought shrimp home for the freezer.

Kayakers Ready!

The dolphins were all around us and stayed with us a good while

Leaving the beach and rv resort behind

One trip walking to town by the harbor.

Happy Hour our 1st night in

Did I say windy! The kites were flying high

Down at the Malecon

Bob Flying his kite

A normal sight at low tide, shrimp boats always out

And the sunsets were beautiful every night

And now we're back in HT with one more adventure coming up!  Costa Rica --March 29th thru April 9th.    More to come.
