Sorry, It’s been awhile since I posted.  My last Post was the 21st of Aug.  After that, we took several more hikes.  The Bailey Lake Hike on the 28th and the Lander Cutoff of the Oregon Trail on the 29th and the 7th of Sept.   Both were beautiful and about 6 1/2 to 7 miles each with an elevation change of 500 ft per mile or around 1,500 ft gain. Here’s some pictures of those hikes. Bailey’s Lake                The Lander Cutoff of the Oregon Trail, cutoff  85 miles by going over the mountain instead of around.  However, the terrain must have really changed since the ledges on the mountain were not wide enough for a horse, much less a wagon.  They had some of the wagon ruts still protected.    The wild flowers were still in abundance.                     Before we left, on the 23rd of Aug., We had an unplanned meal with a few of the friends we’ve made in Star Valley Actually, we left Star Valley earlier than intended to get back to Happy Trails to be with a go

Bob’s aunt passed away. We were gone from Aug 6th – 8th.  Good trip, Bob saw cousins that he had not seen since he was around 11 years old.  I had never met most of these relatives.  Everyone appreciated that we had taken the time to go. After we got back, we tried to start our hiking and kayaking again, so here is the latest.  Aug 10th, Swift Creek.  This was written up to be a hard hike, but really wasn’t as bad as we thought.  It was a beautiful hike as always, but not near as steep.   In my last blog, Nadine, Mike and us had gone to the Periodic Falls.  This is a picture of that from up above on the trail.  It was gorgeous. We hiked along and abov
