Final Week of a Great Trip- Africa

Whoops! It's only the 30th of Sept and we're at Kuba Kuba.  This is a fancy permanent tent camp.  And I mean fancy, all inclusive and an infinity pool to boot.
Sunrise overlooking pool at Kuba kuba

From the pool, you could spot all kinds of animals

Are you could just enjoy the Pool like Lynn and Linda

But we did go out on drives in the mornings, then back for lunch and rest and a later drive in the evening.
How about a Baboon Back ride. Little ones can't keep up

Of course the baby baboon just hang on to Mama

Just a young elephant

We met one like this between the lodge dining room and our room. The Maasai warrior walking us to our room had to throw a rock at it to scare it away

Gator laying in wait

Hippo pool was crowded

Some unlucky Wildebeest became a meal. These lions had their share. Vultures waiting for theirs

The lionesses just resting

On Oct 2nd, we move from the Central Serengeti to Bob and my reason for the trip.  The mobile tents in the Northern Serengeti.  We will spend the  4 nights of the trip here.  So of course, we have a game drive on the way.

The next day we head to the Mara River, hoping for the Highlight of the Trip.  The migration of the Wildebeest.  This is a game of wait and see.  Today, even though there were gatherings that look like a possible crossing, no luck.  So we headed to the border between Tanzania and Kenya.

Baby Zebra

The next day, back to the river to see if we are lucky enough to see a crossing.

And then it happens, we get to the crossing in a hair-raising 4 wheel drive to get a good viewing spot.

There were several staging spots that looked like we were going to have a great crossing.  You can see all the wildebeest in the back, that decided not to cross.  One poor wildebeest didn't make it, the crocs got it.

After the crossing and the croc feasting we had breakfast and more waiting.  Jombi wasn't satisfied, it wasn't a very big crossing.
Did get to see another Leopard

He was just resting and watching

Setting up for Breakfast.

The next day which was the last day for a game drive, Oct 5th, we started early as usual and headed to the river to see if there was anything happening.
Beautiful start to the day, There's actually a Giraffe in front of the trees.
The lions had been busy the night before, because the buzzards were feasting.

We make it to the river, but not much going on so we head down to some of the other crossings.  Guess What!

Next we're heading out to find the Black Rhino, No luck, but plenty of other animals around.
