Cayman and Naples

Well, it's been too long.  First we left you in Texas.  Ended up having great weather so decided to go ahead to Inks Lake State Park.  Really fun hiking and kayaking.

After Inks Lake we pulled into my Sister Anita's and parked.  Leaving the rig for 2 weeks for our trip to Grand Cayman and Naples.  Did check out jeeps one evening, but found out that in order to get a new JL Wrangler 2 door, we would have to order and would take 3 to 4 months.  Guess we'll have to delay the purchase until we get back to Surprise.

Our trip to Grand Cayman with John Gullo, Kim Chase, Johnnie and Geri Gullo, Ron and Donna Daly and Wayne and Nancy Muggli started on April 14th.  We stayed at a great house right on the water at Rum Point.  Had a Great Time even if the weather wasn't the best everyday.  Snorkeling and swimming and walking.

Left Grand Cayman on Saturday, April 21st headed to Naples with Wayne and Nancy for  the US Open Pickleball Tournament.

It was a great week, Nancy and I walked most days, either to the games or to the beach.  Stayed at the Charter Club of Naples, right on the bay.

We also took the opportunity to go meet my nephew, James David and his girlfriend for dinner in Fort Myers.

The venue was great and they gave us the VIP treatment.  It's really hard to run a tournament with around 50 courts, 2000 players and vendors and parking, etc.  I know there were problems, 2 rain delays, but unless you've run a tournament from the ground up especially one of this size, don't complain.   They did a fantastic job and have set standards for other large tournaments.

Overall, we had a great trip.  Then back to Houston for the rig and to my daughter, Dee's to visit her.  Spent a very good day shopping with her and had some quality time.

But, since we were in the tornado belt, and the weather was changing, we scooted across Texas to Caprock Canyon State Park, on the other side of the state and the other side of the weather.  Made it over 400 miles with no problems and no bad weather. Spent one night there.  Did get a hike in the next morning before we moved on to Palo Duro Canyon.

Prairie dogs everywhere.
Ok, then on to Star Valley for the summer.   Arrived on May 6th.  More to come
