Bryce Canyon and thereafter

It’s been awhile, and I’m hoping to catch up on our travels.  We were in the Bryce Canyon 4th of July Parade. We even decorated the tank.  It was small, but a lot of fun.  The Hosts from Sunset Campground, Keith and Charlotte  were also in the parade.

Bob rode in the Fire Engine and got to blow the horn.

On the 6th, since we were off, we finished our under the rim trail and therefore completed the final trail in Bryce Canyon. Here’s the last  pictures of Bryce.

So, next we went to Ogden, UT for the Dennis Forbes Memorial Tournament. We saw many of our friend from Happy Trails here.  I didn’t play really well, but since I hadn’t played but 4 times since my surgery last December, I guess I did ok.

After Ogden, we left the rig at a RV park in Ogden and flew to visit Bob’s Mom in Seattle.  She is doing great at 95.  Not always aware who we are, but seems really content.20130722_134558

Quick 3 days and back on the road.  We had no real plans since we were hoping to go to the North Rim as Hosts, but they filled the position and we were foot loose and fancy free.  We were heading to Tetons and decided to stop at Bear Lake in Utah/Idaho.  Everyone had said it was beautiful, so we decided to spend the weekend there.  Not realizing that this was a holiday in Utah and therefore everything was full. We stopped at a small RV resort on Thursday, but had to move. We went to Bear Lake Hot Springs, but had to dry camp.  This was great, but as the day on Friday went on, we were surrounded.  The tents and kids and ATV’s were everywhere. The water was the color of the Caribbean, so blue it was unbelievable.

Next we headed to Thayne, WY.  Star Valley resort where several pickleball players from Happy Trails and from St. George have convinced the management to let them paint a slab that was going to be a Tennis Court and made 4 pickleball courts.  Don Odle and Walt Asbury taught lessons this morning and we got to play.

We’re staying here for a week then on to the Teton’s.  We checked out the Ranger’s District Office and got a lot of information and plan on just heading out and stopping at National Forest Campgrounds to do exploring.  We’ll be doing dry camping, so don’t know what our connections will be.
