End of May
We left Happy Trails on Wednesday, May 20th and drove three long days to Texahoma. Juanita and Carl are working in Texahoma for the summer. Since this was Memorial Day weekend, the park was packed. I’ve never seen so many kids. We went over to the pickleball courts that are on the pavilion. Two of them. Immediately started to teach the kids and families that wanted to play. Bob and Carl built two new net stands and we had some great games. Juanita’s sons and grandsons were there and they know how to play. Some of the young people were really fast learners and had played tennis and ping pong so they were really good also (of course it was a fast hard hitting game).
We left Texahoma on Wednesday, May 27 and went to see Dee in Texarkana. We stayed at the Elks there, just 1 mile from Dee’s house. She had some electrical outlets that didn’t work so Bob determined what the problem was and fixed them. However; in the process, he discovered the problem was that the outer wall of the trailer was water soaked and rotten, letting water get to the electrical outlets. Therefore, we ended up replacing the siding on one full wall of the trailer. That took 2 full days, extending our stay from 2 nights to 3. Here's a picture of the finished product.
