Summer Home? Brrrrr

Back in Star Valley on May 19th.  Late since we had to make a detour to Ogden to have the slide in the rig checked out.  Made an appointment to return to Ogden on June 6th for repair work.  You know it's always something.  We got out of Happy Trials a little early, Bob's second cataract surgery was on May 9th with final appointment on 16th.  I had an appointment on 17th and we were out of there on 18th.  One overnight, fast trip, we normally take 2 overnights.

Weather clears up fast here.  One day snow, the next, beautiful sunshine.  Back in the grove, pickleball and hiking.  On the 23th, we the Green Canyon Vista Trail with friends Ron and Ione Geinger.

Another hike on May 30th.  This is to Palisades Creek.   Last year you may remember the post of this hike with the cow and her calves on the lake. Well.they still there, only no longer small.  We also saw the mountain goats on the way in.

 Next hike was on June 2nd.  Hiked Strawberry Creek.  Since the snow hasn't melted yet, we don't know how far we can make it on any of the trails.  Been lucky so far, but never know.  In this case,  we only made it out about 2.5 miles before the snow hid the trail. We were lucky to see a young bull moose, a deer, a fox, and a porcupine.  Only got pictures of the moose.

Where to next?

I know the trails here somewhere.

We had to head for Ogden to get the rig worked on on June 6th.  Hiked up to the Waterfall.  Beautiful hike with a great reward.



Back at the ranch, our neighbors have a robin nest under the eave of their gazebo.  We've watched them grow.

 On June 14th, we headed out to hike Cedar Creek.   Of course, snow still in the mountains cut it short at about 3 miles out.  Wild flowers are starting to come out.




 Internet getting slow.  Will continue June adventures another day.

April Family Fun

  Winter’s gone and the seasons over.  We got to Happy Trails at the end of October and immediately started with tournaments. Not playing just working.  In December, we took our annual trip for a beach and snorkel fix.  Then back for more tournaments.  I had back surgery on Dec. 17th, so no pickleball for me the rest of the season.  In April, my big brother Jim Richardson, my Sister, Gladys and Husband, Denny Houghton, and my Sister, Anita and her husband, Stan Kubin cam to visit me.  We normally meet somewhere in May for an annual get together.  This year it was April and at my place.  Dom and Sue were nice enough to move their rig and Gladys and Denny  parked on their lot right next to us so that we could all be together.  Bob and I moved into our RV the night before they arrived since we were headed out after they left.  Picked Jim up at the airport on Thursday, April 18th.  We stopped for lunch/dinner at our favorite Mexican Food restaurant and headed home to welcome Anita and S

Ending of one Epidsode and On to another

 On June 3rd, we drove up to the Teton's in search of 399 and her 4 cubs.  No luck, set for hours where she was supposed to be but, OH Well, that's the breaks.  We did see another Sow and her 2 cubs and some beautiful scenery with lots of snow.  Only portions of the park were open.  On June 5th, headed out for one last hike in the area.  Went to Palacais Creek Trail.  Hopefully there will be a moose at the lake.  It's a 10 mile round trip hike and the moose does make it worth the miles. We not only saw the moose, but some goats up in the cliffs along the way.  Differently a good hike. The moose has a deformed paddle.  Probably won't win any cows or survive the fall.     The creek was really running Saw several goats up on the cliffs.   So on the 9th of June, we had closed on the lots and headed up to Clyde Park to visit Wayne and Nancy and determine what is our next step.  Sad to leave friends behind, but we'll see them in Happy Trails and Surprise. Fiji- A Great Getaway

  On Saturday morning Dec 3rd, we arrived at the Fiji airport.  It was only 5:30 am, but they still had a Band to greet us.  We had to wait until 7:00 for the grocery stores to open, the the Malolo Cat office that would be transporting us to the island of Malolo Lei Lei to our resort, the Malolo Lei Lei Lagoon Resort was open Rosa welcomed us with a flower for my hair.       After a trip to the grocery and to see the town of Nadi, we boarded a bus to the Marina to disembark to our island vacation. The Malolo Cat II took us for the hour trip to the island.     First view of our home for the week.   It was everything Bob and I wanted, no phone, no inter-net, and no TV.  As a matter of fact, there wasn’t even a microwave.  (we could have had inter-net at $5 for 30 minutes, but we opted not to even get on)  The computer was strictly to save pictures.  and that we did!!!!
