Well, it's been awhile since my last blog. It's New Year's Eve and I decided to bring things up to date. After leaving Washington, we went to San Diego to play Pickleball in the San Diego State Senior games. After a little over a week there, we headed to St. George, Utah for the Huntsmen World Senior Games. Spent 3 weeks there before we went to Happy Trails. The 1st week of November was the Nationals out at Sun City Festival. We didn't play, just helped put it on. Some very long long days. Back into the groove with all our friends. Next tournament was the Sun City Grand Skill Level Tournament. I played, but Bob only helped put it on. That was November 17-19th. On Saturday, November 20th, we put on the West Valley Senior Games. It was only one day, but a lot of fun and long. Thanksgiving we shared our meal with 300 or so other people in the Ballroom and then over to NC1 for desserts with 20 or 30 of our closest friends. On Monday, Nov 29th, we worked our first Cardinal game at the Phoenix University Stadium. Our club is trying to build 2 new pickleball courts so the club is working 6 games all together, 4 Cardinal games and the Fiesta Bowl and the BCS Bowl. After all the games and work, Bob and I took a vacation to Belize. All the pictures here show our endeavors. Snorkeling, kayaking, zip lining and tubing in the caves. It was a fun time. The day after we returned from Belize, we flew to Washington to see Bob's Mom and get caught up with her. Got to see his nephew and his family. Enjoyed that, but taking Marie shopping for new clothes was really a task. She's doing great at 93. Had 8 couples over on Christmas Eve, lots of food and games. On Christmas Day we were at the Stadium again. Cardinals vs. Cowboys. Both teams are desperate for any win they can get. The Cardinals won so the tips were better. Tonight we're just going over to a good friends place for dinner and an early New Year celebration. Tomorrow is work at the Stadium for the Fiesta Bowl. It'll be a long day. Happy New Years to all and Good Health in the coming year.
Fiji- A Great Getaway
On Saturday morning Dec 3rd, we arrived at the Fiji airport. It was only 5:30 am, but they still had a Band to greet us. We had to wait until 7:00 for the grocery stores to open, the the Malolo Cat office that would be transporting us to the island of Malolo Lei Lei to our resort, the Malolo Lei Lei Lagoon Resort was open Rosa welcomed us with a flower for my hair. After a trip to the grocery and to see the town of Nadi, we boarded a bus to the Marina to disembark to our island vacation. The Malolo Cat II took us for the hour trip to the island. First view of our home for the week. It was everything Bob and I wanted, no phone, no inter-net, and no TV. As a matter of fact, there wasn’t even a microwave. (we could have had inter-net at $5 for 30 minutes, but we opted not to even get on) The computer was strictly to save pictures. and that we did!!!! The beauty has to be seen, not described...
