On Thursday, July 8th, we moved on to Tall Chief RV Resort outside of Fall city, Wa. This made us closer to all the indoor Pickleball. Let's see, we played at Bitterlake, Meadowbrook, Mercer Island, and Lakewood during our week here. Had a great time, and some great play. We saw lots of friends.
Next we're back to Thurderbird in Monroe for family business. On Sunday and Monday, 18th and 19th, we helped Jen and Craig put down laminate flooring in their kitchen, den and living room. Great spending so much time with the family. Did make it back to Bitterlake for some more play.
From Monroe, we moved to the Elks at Lakewood for the Washington Senior Games. I played with Betty Silver, and Bob played with Dennis Duey. I also played with Dennis in Mixed Doubles. We got and earned the Bronze. Lela and Mark took gold with Mitzu and Lance taking
Silver.
Bob and Suzie Walls came to watch the games and had the Silver's, the Duey's and us over for hamburgers after the games.
On Monday after the games, we headed to Birch Bay for a week. Still driving in to see Bob's Mom once a week. On Tuesday, we went to Birch Bay Village and played outdoor pickleball with the group there. This includes Zoe, Dion & Judy, and Bill & Sherry. All of these either have a place in Happy Trails or rent there. After play, we went to Happy Hour at Bill and Sherry's. Great to see more friends.
On Thursday evening, it was pickleball at the Unruh's. John and Pat Irwin were at Birch Bay with us, but John had caught a bug in Canada so didn't play. Bill and Sue Diehl came into the park on Sunday. Also, Bob and Suzie Walls came to Latitude 49. Bob and I went over there for a little play on those courts. Later in the evening, Bill & Sue and Bob & I went over to Unruh's to play with the guys that come over there most Sundays. These guys really play serious and we had some great play.
Monday morning, Bob U had all of us, including Bob & Suzie and the players from Birch Bay Village for donuts and play.
After play, Bob & Suzie and Bob and I went over to Semiahmoo Bay to rent Kayaks. We saw baby seals and gulls. After one hour, we went to eat at the Resort. Enjoyed their company for the second time this summer.
Early Wednesday, we moved to La Conner for a week. Mike and Jeanette Phipps were getting ready to leave, so we didn't get any pickleball in with them. They'll be back for the tournament at the end of August.
On Tuesday, we took the rig in to the shop for a water leak in the slide. While we were waiting, we went for our weekly visit to Mom, then as things go, the rig wasn't ready so we spend the night in the parking lot.
Thursday morning, Joanne came over to La Conner to play pickleball. We played for a couple of hours and later in the day, Joanne and Claude had us over for dinner. They have a great place there in Mt. Vernon.
Friday, we went to the Anacortes Art and Craft Festival. Ran into Art Gray and Judy Pederson
Sunday, Craig bought the kids out for the day. We tried to teach them pickleball, had hamburgers and then the girls and I did the tie dyed t-shirts. Really had a good time with the family.
Monday, we took Bob's Mom for lunch at Anthony's. Craig and the kids met us there. Marie really loves to watch the boats come and go.
Moved back to Birch Bay on Tuesday, Aug 10th. Bill and Pam arrived at Latitude 49. We went over there to play on Thursday morning. Sharron Doble played along with others from Latitude 49 and of course Bill. Thursday night, we went to Bob Unruh's to play. Bill & Pam, Ron & Ione, John Irwin and Bob & I, and Bob U. had some great games.
Sunday, Bill & Pam, Ron & Ione and Bob & I went over to Semiahmoo to kayak. Kayaked for 3 hours and then to eat at the resort. Tired, but fantastic day.
Monday, Bob Unruh had us over for play in the morning. Ione (Ron had plans), Bob & I, and John & Pat came over for play and to cheer us on. Of course, Bob furnished donuts and coffee.
Today's Tuesday and after my walk and picking more blackberries, we just took the day to work on our things.
